Summary

One the hottest ICT technologies at the forefront of international development is the GRID. The GRID offers research centres unprecedented computing power, by sharing all computing resources available worldwide in a common pool. With the collaboration of a number of ICT research and development centres, ISF intends to create an “African GRID”, allowing African universities to share with us computing power and storage, which is the primary resource needed to set up any world scale scientific and technological research program.
